What is the Radiology Resident Forum?

The Radiology Resident Forum is a distinguished collective comprising doctors and medical students dedicated to advancing radiology research. Led by Professor Imran Syed & Professor Muhammad Azeemuddin, this group submits cutting-edge research to publishers globally, significantly enhancing the CVs of radiology applicants.

Internationally recognised, the Radiology Resident Forum plays a pivotal role in shaping the careers of aspiring radiologists by providing unparalleled research opportunities and professional development.

One of our key initiatives is organising an annual international radiology conference in the UK, attracting participants from Pakistan, UAE, Singapore, and beyond — offering a unique opportunity to network with international peers, learn from renowned experts, and stay at the forefront of radiology innovations.

Professor Imran Syed is a Distinguished Professor and Head of the Department of Radiology at Basildon University Hospital, and Regional Clinical Lead for Interventional Radiology across one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK.

He serves as the Royal College of Radiologists' Learning Lead for Interventional Radiology, and authored the Uro-radiology chapter of Chapman & Nakielny's Aids to Radiological Differential Diagnosis, one of the most widely read radiology textbooks in the world, now in its 8th edition.

He is the co-founder of the Radiology Resident Forum, which he established alongside Professor Muhammad Azeemuddin, growing it from a UK-based initiative into an international platform for radiology education and research, drawing participants from over 49 countries.

Professor Muhammad Azeemuddin is a Professor of Radiology and Head of the Interventional Radiology Section at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, and a founding member and Past President of the Interventional Radiology Society of Pakistan.

He specialises in Interventional Radiology and Head & Body MRI, with particular expertise in the IR management of hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatobiliary interventions, and emergency embolization procedures, backed by more than 1,221 citations across his published research.

Alongside Professor Imran Syed, he co-founded the Radiology Resident Forum to give residents structured opportunities for academic and professional growth, playing a key role in expanding RRF's reach within Pakistan during the COVID-19 pandemic.
